Email contact@finish.tax. Tell us the email address on your FinishTax account and what you were doing when the problem happened: which screen you were on, and whether you were on the web, an iPhone or an iPad. A screenshot helps. Please don't email us Social Security Numbers or tax documents.
The iPhone and iPad apps
There are two FinishTax apps for iPhone and iPad:
- FinishTax — for tax preparers and their teams. Sign in with your FinishTax account.
- FinishTax Portal — for clients of a firm that uses FinishTax. Your account starts from the invite email your preparer sends you; after that, sign in with your email and password.
If you're a client with a question about your return, your documents or an invoice, ask your preparer: they have your file and can answer it. If the app itself isn't working, email us.
Subscriptions bought in the app
A plan bought in the FinishTax app is sold through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. To change or cancel it, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or use Manage subscription on the app's Billing screen. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
A plan started on our website is managed from Settings → Billing in the web app. The Terms of Service cover both.
Privacy and your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, including what the apps send and to whom, and our Security page describes how your data is protected. The Terms of Service cover your account and payments.
- Preparers: delete your account and data at any time in the FinishTax app from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account, on the web (firm owners) from Settings → Your data → Delete account, or email privacy@finish.tax to request deletion. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought in the app on iPhone or iPad — cancel it first in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Clients: delete your portal sign-in from More → Delete account in the FinishTax Portal app. Your preparer keeps your tax records under their own retention duties, so ask them about those.
